Tucson, Arizona, August 1, 2025 — Crest Insurance Group announced today that it has named Matt Muehlebach as it’s new General Counsel.  He will be based in the Tucson, Arizona headquarters.

Mr. Muehlebach, who most recently served as General Counsel and SVP of 5Lights, LLC and Genius Avenue, is an experienced legal leader with an ideal combination of top-tier law firm training and as a senior in-house counsel. He brings a great track record of managing corporate legal matters and advising management and Boards on a diverse range of matters, including commercial and strategic transactions, M&A, litigation, IP, labor and employment, corporate governance, and regulatory and compliance.

In addition to his in-house company experience, Mr. Muehlebach brings 17 years of experience, 13 years as a Partner, at the prestigious firm of Hecker and Muehlebach, PLLC. In this role, it was where Mr. Muehlebach represented Cody Ritchie and his partners in the purchase of the company which is now Crest. As a private practitioner he was recognized as “Best Lawyers in America” in the area of Corporate Governance.

Mr. Muehlebach earned his Juris Doctor degree and B.A. from the University of Arizona.  Aside from his professional experience, he  is a member of the University of Arizona National Leadership Council, former board member of the Arizona College of Law and Arizona Alumni Board, former board member of the Bank of Tucson (and loan committee member), Former Chairman of the Tucson Urban League, and current advisory board member of Busey Bank. Mr. Muehlebach was also an Academic All-American and Captain of the Arizona basketball team, and has served as a college basketball analyst for Fox Sports, FS1, ESPN and Pac-12 Networks.
